Nivea is a German brand that was founded in 1882. It comes from the Latin word niveus/nivea/niveum, meaning: snow-white. Since the 1980’s, the brand has expanded into a wider global market.
Obviously shaving cream from a tube is preferable to canned products, since canned creams dry out your skin. This cream gives a thick lather and it takes a bit more to cover a full head. The layer is not so slick in comparison to other products and it becomes tacky quite fast, so I needed to reapply a bit of water during shaving. The lather can handle a lot of water without falling apart. I’ve gotten smooth and close shaves with this shaving cream, but despite the thick lather my skin tends to become slightly irritated. So I apply a product to calm my skin down straight after shaving.
The cream lasts for about 4 months, shaving the head 3 times a week, so for $5 a tube it really is a bargain from this global brand. You can purchase a 4-pack of this cream on Amazon for $19,99.
